Overview of the Curriculm:
Over the course of decades, educators across the United States have felt their stress and feelings of being overwhelmed increasing over time. Many educators have been feeling an extreme sense of burnout the longer they stay in the profession. This is an increasing issue that lies within the Atlanta Public School System (APS), as well. Currently, there are no programs available to educators in the APS school district to combat the burnout that they feel in their personal and professional lives. The purpose of this curriculum is to help educators combat burnout by assisting them in creating and implementing personalized self-care plans and learning how to conduct crucial conversations with the leadership in their school communities. Educators will have the opportunity to complete the workshops in person or virtual in which they will unfold the meaning of teacher burnout and how it affects them differently. With the facilitation of this workshop and curriculum, learners will be able to learn how to reduce their stress and maintain their role in a career that they once enjoyed.
